A recent appeal case involving the Immigration bid round. The firm of solicitors (Azam & Co) missed the closing date for submitting a bid for a contract and asked for an extension to allow them to submit a bid. The LSC refused and legal action began

Azam & Co appealed this High Court decision
The appeal was heard on 9 September in the Court of Appeal and judgment was given on 10 September. The appeal was dismissed
An LSC spokesperson said: "We have every sympathy with Mr Azam. However, the Legal Services Commission is pleased with the judgment in the Court of Appeal and the fact that our immigration tender is in line with European procurement law."

Personally, I think it is a little OTT for the Commission to take the decision as a blanket Court of Appeal endorsement of the immigration tender process. The circumstances of the appeal were quite specific. No doubt the hope is that it will serve to discourage others
