So, LSC, you can finally take your SQM, IFRs, FFCCAs, CMs, KPIs, FSVs, etc etc. and carefully file them all into your Provider ASSurance.
Even if it wasn’t for the depressing ‘news’ (no surprise) in the ConDemn Legal Aid bill, I’m out of here... I'm afraid the Young(ish) man with an old fashioned Social(ist) conscience who joined the CAB 11 years ago has been slowly and painfully killed off. In his place sits an eternally stressed, number crunching, LCC (attempted) complying, goalpost chasing vessel. Call me defeatist but I realised ages ago I couldn’t do it much longer and so, come the end of July, I’m out to try and do something that interests and where I might feel I’m doing something useful again…
I wish all of you here (and, in truth, all of the UK) the best of luck in the battle(s) ahead. Thanks to Patrick and the team for being one of the beacons of sanity, useful information and sounding-off on the sea of on which we’ve all been trying to float.

Good luck, Lee, and all the best for the future. I know you aren't the first valuable asset legal aid has lost, and I am sure you certainly will not be the last
Anyone else in the same position, we want to know about it! Feel free to express yourself and share your story here
i'll carry on advising and fighting these cuts as long as i've got a hole in my arsev, and i'v a mortgage to pay.
Don't forget the political colour of the second rate goverment of third rate politicians and has beans, blue and yellow. The removal of scope so far of housing for tennants, employment for employees and welfare benefit advice for claimants comes as little surprise.
The need for that advice has never been more required or harder to do. It might be easier to thread the eye of a needle with a cumberland sausage than advice in this climate under legal aid but the fights not over till the fat lady gargles.
