I often browse this site without logging on, to see if there is anything of interest to me.
However, if I am reading a thread and want to comment, then I have to navigate back to the home page to logon. Then navigate back to the thread I wish to coment on.
Would it be possible to create a way of loggong on without having to do this, or am I asking the impossible?
You don't have to go back to the home page to log in. You can click the 'login' tab just under the ilegal logo at the top of any page you are looking at, which will then bring up the login box. If you've saved your username and password in the browser on the computer you're using then it should auto-populate this login box and it's just a matter of clicking to log in
However, this then takes you back to the home page automatically rather than the particular page you were looking at. So, thanks for the request, Steve. I'll taken it up with ProBoards (who host ilegal) to see if there's some way around it. I agree, it would make more sense if after actually clicking log in you were taken to the page you were on rather than having to navigate back to it from the home page
I'll come back to you as soon as I've got an answer
We canna' change the laws of physics, but we can (1) make sure everything works behind the scenes (2) continually improve the user interface, and (3) keep adding new functions to make your ilegal experience easier and more productive

Update: ProBoards can't do this at the moment but the good news is that it is a feature in the next version of the forum architecture that ilegal is built on. The next version is already in beta testing. Once it goes live, then ilegal will be upgraded to this new version and the function you originally asked for will be included
The release date isn't known yet - depends how the testing goes, could be very soon or months away
Anyway, following my request, I've been invited to join in the beta testing programme so have signed up and will update you as and when. Sorry it's not a quick fix, Steve
