Justice for All has asked everyone to write to their MP as well as to the Lords about the Legal Aid bill. This is crucial because even if the Lords amend the bill it will still have to go back to the Commons unless the government listens and makes sensible concessions
"Invite your MP to legal aid debate next week The Legal Aid Bill is almost through Parliament, but next Tuesday there is a last minute debate for MPs to discuss the impact of the legal aid changes on the not-for-profit advice sector. It comes the day before the House of Lords vote on vital changes to the Bill.
Please write to your MP and ask them to speak during the debate Please ask your MP to speak in the debate and show their support for amendments to keep social welfare law within the scope of legal aid.
Justice for All have produced a short briefing for the Westminster Hall debate, and an equally short one on one of our most crucial amendments - to keep welfare benefit appeals and reviews within legal aid.
If you haven't already, now is your last chance to Pair up with a Peer to let them know how important legal aid is to you.
