Whilst mostly avoiding the questions, the Minister does say, about the helpline to replace the existing helpline,
"The procurement process for a new equality advisory and support service is continuing and no preferred bidder has been selected. The intention is that the process should be completed in May, with the new service becoming operational in September."
However, seeing how the Equalities Minister didn't turn up for the debate, it was only a junior minister left to answer the questions and poorly briefed. when asked about the Government's response to the consultation on cutting the helpline and grant funding of Law Centres, he answered,
