Oh how their reaction may just change if they walked around the corner and got run over by a car, or turned up at work the following week to find out they's been made redundant. Or perhaps learn that they or someone they know has been struck down by some awful illness and desperately needs help.
How perceptions would soon change.
It's quite dreadful that we've returned to the days of a profound lack of compassion and a distinct attitude that only those who contribute should in any way benefit from the welfare state.
When will people learn that not all are lucky enough to contribute?
A better poll would have been arrived at by asking people other than in the High Street.
