We cover nine areas of social welfare law and we hold Legal Aid contracts in both Housing and Community Care for Coventry. We are also contracted to operate the Housing Duty Solicitor Scheme at Coventry Combined Court.

Salary negotiable based on experience – up to approx £37,000 for an exceptional candidate
We require an experienced litigator who meets the Legal Aid Agency Supervisor standard in housing casework and has knowledge/experience of the civil procedure rules and civil litigation. Knowledge of Judicial Review processes would be an advantage. You will have a good understanding of the requirements of the Legal Aid Agency Specialist Help Quality Mark (SQM).
This role also includes the overall day to day management of the housing and community care team (we have a community care casework supervisor) and you will be responsible for managing the Independent Complaints Advocacy Service for NHS complaints.
You will handle a manageable caseload, but in addition will be expected to spend some of your time on other work, such as seeking to influence policy at the highest levels of decision making within local government and public services and working with voluntary organisations and others to increase awareness of legal rights.
